Do badly programmed websites ever refuse Amex private payments #'s for you?

I have been trying to use my American Express private payment numbers for security reasons, but some websites just don't work with them. Sometimes the websites think the card is expired. For instance, I tried to use mine at office max online, and it refused it. I don't know why, but I assume it might not work because it "expires" this month. ARG! :|

I've been having lots of problems too.

Bn.com says, "We are experiencing difficulty in placing your order because your credit card issuer is not accepting this charge." Of course no one has any more information.

Yeah, it's happenned... It also happenned to a friend of mine with his Visa card, on the same site :disgust:

2nd time I tried the site tho', AmEx went through...
