Do Asian/Indian people buy pickup trucks???

Was thinking about dumping ye olde Volvo and gettin a used Ford Ranger or Chevy S10 pickup. They should be pretty cheap...right? Anyways, I got to thinking, I don't know of a single Indian person with a pickup truck. Okay wait...scratch that. I have one friend on Lake Norman who has a beat up Mazda pickup but they literally never drive it...it has the boat trailer permanently hitched and they drive it a few times during the summer all of half a mile!

But seein as there's a lot of Asians and Indians here (talkin bout the ones whose parents are from India, naturally) I was wonderin how many of you own a pickup truck or have one at your household.
 
Is there a law against it? ... I'm thinking most of us just don't like them. I'm trying to think of someone who has one, but no one is coming to mind, heh. (I'm in the indian/asian category!) 😉

There's "smart" with your money and then there's washing your dishes with an old sock for a year because you're too cheap to buy a sponge. Not that it was an Asian/Indian I knew that was doing it, but still...

It's like a '90 corolla with two rims on the front and donuts on the back. it's a bad silver car with a black rear stock bumper and dents all around the car to the max.... and the cool part.. the interior!!! he has an rmp gauge a radar a fire extinguisher, and some loose beats. not to mention he probably have some cheap intake and a muff tip... But here's the worse part of all.. It's an Automatic... yah auto...why the hell you "rice" up automatics? It probably was his dad's car and was handed down to him...
 
My indian friend has a truck. He uses it for DJing. My brother (who also DJs) once wanted a truck. Though... doesn't seem to anymore.
 
I'm Indian and we own a Honda Accord, Volvo 850 Station Wagon, and a soon to be Mercedes E320 or the one right above it. (E430?)

Anyway, if you have a need for it, go get it. What kind of roads do you travel on, how much do you drive a day, and how much are you willing to spend on gas? As in, are you willing to go higher than the volvo or do you want something with better mileage?

Could you also tell me the average mpg you get on the roads you drive?
 
The only Indians I know of who own a truck live in TX. Probably because most Indians here are professionals, business owners, or work in the commercial sector - and tend not to be too into manual labor-oriented trades. So they tend not to be the least bit handy and probably wouldn't get any utility out of a truck.
