Worst. Remake. Ever.

completely agree.

i like it :)
whats so bad about it??

Staind- Excess Baggage is a really sad song

Well I know the words, but I can't really speak them
To you

And I hide all the pain that I've gained with my wisdom
From you

And I'm eaten alive, by what I hold inside
All the things that I live with I can't easily hide
And I'm left here with nothing, nothing to live for
But you

It's not easy to hide
All this damage inside
I'll carry you with me
Until I'm not alive

When you look at my face, does it seem just as ugly
To you?

I can't seem to erase all the scars I have lived with
From you

I'm so sick of this place
This taste in my mouth
Cause of you I can't figure what I'm all about
And I'm left here with nothing, nothing to live for
But you

It's not easy to hide
All this damage inside
I'll carry you with me
'Til I'm not alive

Last Christmas (Wham!), Today (Smashing Pumpkins), Tatiana (Dan Reed Network), Adore (Lisa B-somethingorother) and Take A Picture (Filter) all make me a little teary-eyed.

It's a common mistake. Cat Stevens....Cat's in the cradle.

Speaking of Harry Chapin, his version of "Without You" is a tear jerker (and the best version, IMO). Originally by Badfinger, and covered by Mariah Carey & Air Supply.

"Well I can't forget this evening, or your face as you were leaving, but I guess that's just the way the story goes."

And Air Supply, for that matter, can get the tears flowing after breaking up with your girlfriend. I used to be a glutton for punishment with Air Supply. (Can't believe I'm admitting to being a pu$$y!)

"I just can't live without you
I miss everything about you

Just when I thought I was over you
Just when I thought I could stand on my own
Oh baby, those memories come crashing through
And I just can't go on without you."

"You're my best friend" by Queen.

It sums up so much how I feel about my g/f that I get misty eyed. I want to sing it to her at our wedding. :)

Ooo. you make me live
whatever this world can give to me
It's you, you're all I see
Ooo, you make me live now honey
Ooo, you make me live

You're the best friend
that I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
You're my best friend

Ooo, you make me live

I've been wandering round
But I still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me girl
I'm happy, happy at home
You're my best friend.

You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love
The things that you do
You're my best friend

Ooo, you make me live.

I'm happy, happy at home
You're my best friend
You're my best friend
Ooo, you make me live
You, you're my best friend.

Sadly enough, "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi has done it once or twice...
Also, "It's Your Love" performed by Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood...

EDIT: For those who enjoy choral music, check out the most haunting melody I ever had the privilege to perform:
"Prayer of the Children" arranged by Kurt Bestor Linky
The mp3 doesn't do it justice, but if you want to hear a REALLY good performance of it, PM me and I will make one available to you. And grab some tissues...

I don't think I've cried at a song since I was 16. But it was usually when I was sad over my ex. I'd pop in Air Supply, and those first words had me going: "Here I am, playing with those memories again..." BOOHOO!!!!! :)

Hey, good one. I don't cry from a song either but they have gotten me a little down and/or thinking about a lot of things going on at the time. I use that particular song as a teaching aide of how not to be with my kids. I spend a lot of time with them because I would never want to be the type of dad he is in the song.

I saw Duran Duran last month. My cousin Jean and I were huge Duran Duran fans when we were kids in the 80's. We grew out of it, but said if they ever toured again, we'd go together for old time's sake. Sadly, Jean was killed in an auto accident last year at 29. I felt obligated to see them live when they came around, as she never got to see them. Before playing "Ordinary World," the singer announced that the song was written in response to losing a loved one. I never knew that, and immediately thought of Jean. The line that hit me hardest was, "Where is my friend when I need you most? Gone away." I didn't cry, but got choked up.

What's weird is, the very next song "Save a Prayer," the singer plays an acoustic guitar, as it's a slower song. After the song, he threw the pick to the crowd. I didn't see where it went, but I felt it hit my foot. I dropped to the ground and picked it up. I'm not saying it had any help from supernatural forces, but it made me think. :)

"Fallen" by Sarah McLachlan

I was in a lousy mood already when I played her new CD--made me uber-verklempt. No tears, but close :D Damn--that CD can be depressing.

But we carry on our backs the burdens time always reveals
In the lonely light of morning
In the wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
I've held so dear . . .

Wow. I must admit that is quite the coincidence! Almost like she was letting you know she was there with you in a way.
