I ask them if I could use a friends copy and the CD, and they said that would be fine.

You can make a backup of the Office 2k cds with just about any burning application. I have used Nero and Roxio with no problems.

Yeah this is such a pain in the a$$.
I formated one of my drives and reinstalled WinXP.
So, I am doing the tedious process of re installing all my application.
I can boot into a different drive, and Office is installed and working fine.
But, installing it on the new drive and OS is a nightmare.
It can't read some file, but says its directory is something clipart.
So, I tried doing a custom install, and not install the clip art, so it would skip that portion of the CD.
And, I just tried to install it again so I could tell you the next error code it gives me, but it installed this time..??? W00t!
