I find that part of the difficulty comes from the shock of ice-cold droplets hitting my eyes. I keep eyedrops in my pocket for several minutes before using them.

Don't learn to use eye drops with Patanol

yep. this shit is expensive, but oh so good for my eyes

i used to never have allergies in the spring but htis year it's been killing me. i've been rubbing my eyes like crazy and patanol + claritin is the only thing that can help me

I can pretty much guarantee I have it worse than you do. I can't watch my wife put in her contacts--I get shivers just thinking about it. Last time I went to the eye doctor, I told them that I react (technically I said "twitch") when they put stuff in my eye. They had to dilate my eyes, and I literally almost jump out of the chair every single time. The doc said "you call that a twitch!!", and stated that I would never be able to wear contacts...

Reading this thread is getting me sick. If I ever have something that requires me to put drops in my eyes, I will have to have people hold me down. I could never do it myself.

The trick I've taught myself is to grab my bottom eye lid with my thumb and index finger and pull the lid out as far as it can go, forming a cup. Then I fix the end of the dropper against the bottom eye lid (just barely), and squeeze a drop out. Blink quickly and the drop spreads around the eye. This has worked well for me and has the added bonus of me not needing to lean my head back.

Ya I have the same problem with my contact solution. I usually get it all over my face before I get a drop in.
