Accutane is hell. I'm on it right now and it friggn burns. My face gets completely red and if I go out into the sun wow... I look like I had 10 shots of vodka. And of course everything gets dry. I have contacts and it gets extremely dry in the eyes I have to use eyedrops which I have NEVER used in the past 8 years that I have worn contacts.

As for other prescription drugs, I don't find Differin to dry out the skin much. It's just as oily, although it treats acne very nicely.

Over the counter stuff like Proactiv work too, although that dries out for me more.... Neutrogena has some benzoic acid stuff that works nicely.

Any good products to use? Recently, my face and hands get kinda oily and I hate it.

Take a fvcking bath?

It varies from person to person. It has nothing to do with taking a shower or whatever. I shower twice a day, and so what, doesn't change a thing. Some people just get oil easily on their skin.... As long as the oil is not causing acne, it shouldn't be an issue.

Looks like this has been covered pretty well, but I need to up my post count.

I finally went to see someone besides a dermatologist.
It was the nice ladies at Normal Merle (or was it Merle Norman?).
They said the reason my skin keeps greasing up is that after I clean it, I dont moisturize it. So my face produces its own moisture. Oil.

The above advice about a cleanser and toner is good, but you should also use a facial cream or lotion to add good moisture to your skin.
A scrub every few days is also a good idea.

Also, dont buy any of Merle Normans overpriced crap. Get a cheap foaming cleanser, Sea Breeze astringent, and some low-priced Ponds cream.
All of which can be found at Wal-Mart or K-Mart.

And, to all the guys: I'm about as straight as they come. I have more smut in my entertainment center and more pr0n on my hard drive than many teenagers.
But at least once in our lives, every man needs to try a facial. It really helps.
Ask the lady questions while she's doing it. You'd be amazed at what you learn.

Dermatologists need you to keep coming back and keep buying expensive medicine. Even if they do know how to clear up skin, they wont share all their secrets.

Use oil blotting sheets. Clean and Clear's blotting sheets work pretty well and doesn't leave any powder residue.
