I used to share my computer with my brother until I got my own a year ago. Did anyone share computers with a family member? Do you let anyone touch your computer?

No one touches my personal computer but me. Unless of course I give them permission. My girlfriend does not even dare touch my computer even once I give her permission (actually she always has permission) because she is too afraid that she will screw something up.

My wife uses mine occassionally for email. She tries her hardest to stay away from computers when she's at home. Her theory is she uses one at work all day why the hell would she want to get on one at home.

Fine by me :)

No. It drives me nuts at work when coworkers get on my computer and change navigation settings. Like people who still use file explorer. Arrrrg.

Nothing is. I'm talking about the actual "File Explorer" in NT 4 where you scroll for the source file in a frame on the left, and the target is on the right. Sooo inefficient.

Come to think of it. I dont think anyone acutally touches my computer. I have enough around the house for visitor to use and everyone in the family has thier own system that noone acutally touches mine. Though sometime my borther in law likes to use the pc in my room to surf the net when he visits and I happen not to be home but the occassion has become less as he has realized I am not found of it. The only person that I really didnt mind using my computer was my gf which is now an ex, sigh.

But now that my gf is an ex I been learning how to setup server/client. Will deploy that at my house so only family members would be allowed to logged in. Plus the other neat features only in a server/client enviroment its a added bonus as noone else at my home cares about secruity, system maintain, or anything else as long they can surf the net. Its quite amazing how much spyware are retained on thier pc on any given perticular day.
