do any games do this?

I always thought it would be a cool idea to have a racing game that can download information from google maps or a similar mapping service and generate a track from it. That way you could race on tracks in your own town that you are familiar with. Do any games do this, or are there any developers working on a similar project?

not that i know of, but i'm sure its just a matter of time before someone creates an open ended racer like that. An updated Midtown Madness 2, if you will. That was the most fun i have ever had playing a racing game. PC, of course. i had over 500 user created vehicles and several cities with city mods. I would just drive around in cruise mode for hours.

The only problem I could forsee would be textures and deciding how to use what texture. I mean, you could probably do it easily if you used the same textures (per environment such as grassy-land, desert area, etc), but actually diversifying it might prove difficult.
