I've never encountered anyone who does a handshake a day. I've only ever seen handshakes done for an introduction, and that's it.

I think I'll vote for this option.
Do they do a butt-slap, too?

1. that ain't old.
2. shaking someone's hand everyday is not normal. It's not a form of every day greeting, it's a method of introduction (or of parting), or of formal greeting (business meeting, long time since last met)

Old people don't shake your hand, they much rather talk to you butt naked while you are in the locker room
trying to look up at the ceiling...*sigh* I hate the old people at the gym I go to.

Sometimes people are caught off guard or find it strange, but I think it's very important to show respect to peers and superiors alike.

I judge a person by a handshake all the time and I'm only 24. I deal a lot with vendors and sales people and they're introduction needs to be dead on or they are already in the shit hole with me.

As for shaking hands every day, meh. I have a good buddy that's a cop and since day one every time I've seen him I've shaked his hand. It's a good way to know that someone is happy to see you.

The "young" guys don't have a free hand to shake, they need their hands to hold their pants up......

Don't you hate it when they run across your lawn too? And what's with that noise they call music? :)

I hate shaking anyone's hand, unless it's the very first time I'm meeting them. Same for hugs with chick friends.

Seriously... when was the last time you meant it - omg I missed you - gimme a hug!

we had one electrician that would do this. he was mid 30s also. im almost 40, and i notice that customers i visit that are well into their 50 or 60s tend to always shake, where the younger customers (under 40) are usually content with a wave and a hi. i think its just that generation, even tho it has made me a hand shaker over the course of the years dealing with these people. not a bad thing tho, show some respect.

Damn..I'm old. Is that what 20 year olds really think of us in our 30's and 40's? I didn't think I was old. And to answer your question, us "Old" people shake hands because that's what gentleman do. Would you rather we slap hands and hit fists?

i have one customer that doesnt have a guy over 45 or under 30 and they do this daily. to everyone. kind of funny to be there when a new contractor shows up and doesnt even know what they are doing hehe.

Relax. They're just checking you for weapons.

Nothing is worse than giving a handshake to a man and its a limp wristed girly shake. I do think less of that person.

If I walk up to a table of people at a pub or a meeting or something I usually shake everyone's hand, or maybe hit fists or something if they're those kind of people. I'm 25.
