Is their any mono block amps that run in 4 ohms?

I got a new amp. It says 2 ohm stable on the box. It's a mono block. My sub is running in 2 ohms. Would that work?

how do you have it wired?

and yeah, if you're pulling a 2 ohm load on the amp, and it says it can handle 2 ohms, it should ****** work...

A GOOD amp will DOUBLE its power at halving the resistance of the load. There are designs that can drive 1/4 ohm loads but they will cost you.

Krell will do it down to .5, but isn't rated to .25.

Krell MRA

1000w into 8 ohm
2000w into 4 ohm
4000w into 2 ohm
8000w into 1 ohm
16000w into .5 ohm

Of course, it's not the cheapest at $125,000. :D

heh, I'm asuming that is one of their class A lines. Even the old KSA series is still going for a pretty penny.

you know the problems I have with my electrostats. Brutal on an amp. 1 ohm.

Yeah, class A.

BTW, ever see one? They're absolutely HUGE.

This is a rather big man next to one:

Holy ginormous amp batman!
