Do all modern LCDs have a built-in counter (counting number of hours turned on?)

I do not propose to find out how many LCDs are horny. I just want to know if this is a common thing- I suppose for the manufacturer to check validity of warranties- because there is a law here that says you can return anything (almost) bought within 14 days, provided you return it in the same state (virtually) as it arrived in, and my Eizo Flexscan l550 has a stuck communist pixel right in the middle and I can't do a dang thing about it except get hypnotized. The Evil Eye, I've named it, and I really want to exchange it. Anyways, I've had it on for like 30 hours, and the person who gets this screen next is prolly going to get rather annoyed to see that it has been used already for that long, and that it on top of evertything else has the Evil Eye.

I don't know if I'd be liable or anything like that, and I don't suspect you do either, but perhaps you can tell me if this is something built into all new LCD's? Because if that's the case then I suspect I would not even be able to return it and get my money back or exhange it.

Thank you for your patience.

How many do then, approximately? Surely there can't be just one guy here with an LCD?

Good post, Grakatt. :) Sorry to say I can't help you. Out of the three CRTs and one LCD I('ve) use(d), only my Mitsu D+72 17" CRT has a power-on clock. I'd like to see more monitors with such a feature, though.

Ah, thanks to you all for your replies. I judge it not to be feature of a majority of LCD's today, then. However reckless of an assumption that might be.

Yes, most have, under OSD - Information.
For service purpose, manufacturer can know how long you've used it.

Or for I-don't-trust-our-customers-purposes, to check whether it's actually been used or not .P
