I've been looking at replacing my 15" NEC 1530v and it seems manufactures just hate me!

-I enjoy the low response times since I play games often.
-I like the look of the Samsung 172x however, it ghosts like a *******.
-I like the new slim HP Displays, but they have only Analog and have external AC brick.
-I like the Dells, but as normal they wont fold up at all.
-I like the IIyama's glass screens, but they dont fold up!

Seriously, someone make me a LCD that has the following...

-Ability to look at it from decent angles and still makeout a decent image
-Thin sleek bezel like the Samsung 172x
-DVI, so I dont have to spend hours adjusting my screen size
-Base that will fold up (Wall mountable)
-Internal AC-DC Converter
-Glass Screen like the IIyamai (sp?) displays
- Actually affordable! I am not going to buy a $550 17"!

My 192t meets most of that, I am very happy with it.

-Ability to look at it from decent angles and still makeout a decent image = Yep
-Thin sleek bezel like the Samsung 172x = Its pretty slim, though not as slim as the 191t
-DVI, so I dont have to spend hours adjusting my screen size = Yep
-Base that will fold up (Wall mountable) = Yep
-Internal AC-DC Converter = Yep
-Glass Screen like the IIyamai (sp?) displays = Nope, though this doesn't bother me, it looks great
- Actually affordable! I am not going to buy a $550 17"! = Yep, at least in my opinion. I got mine for $699. I think they are $680something at NewEgg now

Lol, I know what you mean. Though I have my eye on my little brother's kidney more then mine. I am pretty sure I'll pick up a 213t in the next month or two. Assuming some new LCD doesn't come out. I am pretty interested in the Mitsubishi 2080ux+ though. Its got a 20ms panel it seems. Though the 25ms on my 192t has not given me a single problem in any game I have played. I just want a larger panel now.

Why bother? I think its hard to find non-VESA mounting complient displays now, you just have to actually remove the base, is that a horrible thing to think of?

yes, all LCD's suck... I still dont own one, and likely never will.

CRT's picture is a million times better.

While you're designing the perfect LCD, design yourself the perfect mate too. One that cooks, cleans, makes a lot of money, but doesnt use any. Don't forget the sense of humor too. :)

I <3 my LCD, it's a bit aged now, but it's a 15in Gateway case with custom LG-Philips Screen. Never failed me once, and i love taking it to Lans since it's so light and compact. The screen always feels larger than my comparable 19in CRT.

I play games for fun and my own enjoyment. My lcd has no real ghosting problem, but when i play on LCD's that do ghost, meh. If i'm playing competitive, nothing could possibly beat a CRT.

What you got to ask yourself is if you're not willing to pay the high cost for an LCD that fulfills everything you want, do you really want everything that bad?

I've had both Dell 1800FP and 2001 FP. Both have been great. I've gamed on both of them and never had any problems.

17" and at least 1400 x 1050 native resolution. at any rate, something other than 1280x1024, which is just wrong

Yup, this is my major complaint w/ desktop LCDs. They need to make higher resolution small panels. 1280x1024 doesn't cut at 19 inches.

I think its perfect on my 19". But thats just me. I run 1280x1024 on my 19" CRT as well. Only my 21" CRTs are at 1600x1200. It is weird though that you pretty much have to go 20"+ to get 1600x1200 on desktop panels. And smaller laptop screens generally run higher resolutions (1600x1200 on a 15" for instance). That may be since you tend to sit closer to them though ,I don't really know why there is such a difference.

I bet :Q:heart:.

Me..well Ill probably get the next generation of screens coming out this year (assuming there is a new panel, faster responsetimes, etc). If not, Ill either pick up one of these badboys (2001FP) or a new CRT.

Bump for Dell's 2001fp....I havent gamed on mine yet but it far outshines my philips 109s 19" for clarity and all around picture quality. I dont have a single problem yet with it except maybe being toooo damn bright at default which is easily fixed....

And those that think all lcds suck need to look farther than the ones they sell at OD or OM

the only one they carry (OD) worth mentioning is the Samsung 192 which at 25ms resonse has a very clear and crisp picture but it will ghost on you and it does not have digital dvi...the microteks have both analog and digital but the respose time is like 80ms :Q , which of course is worthless for anything other than notepad in my opinion....:D
