Do ALL LCDs have SOME backlight issues?

So I just got my Dell 2005fpw and it looks great. The only problem is that when the screen is solid black, or at least solid black in the lower left corner, I can see the dreaded "backlight" that everyone is talking about with this monitor. It's not really that bad at all, especially compared to some of the other pics I have seen here of less fortunate buyers. I will not send this in for another 2005fpw because there are no dead pixels and honestly I think odds are I will get a worse monitor if I send this one back.

However, there is still a part of me that wants a "perfect" monitor, so I ask all of you, do all LCDs have this "backlight" issue to some extent, or is it just specific to this particular model?

I thought about getting an L90D+, but it doesn't have a good return policy (8+ dead pixels, buyer pays shipping for an RMA), so if I bought it I would be stuck with it.

What should I do? Live with this "less than perfect" LCD or take my chances with another model that seems to be popular on AT?

i think they all have a little bit of bleeding at the price dell is shipping them for. maybe the apples don't.

All LCDs have a little bit of bleeding. The best you can hope for is that the bleeding is minimal and uniform accross the whole screen (some users would consider such a screen to be 'perfect'). No LCDs can disply true black as of yet.

Except some Sony models, which have X Black. A screen coating which reduces the light output at low levels. Looks V good.

Such issues as backlight problems are not listed in specs, which is why buying a monitor on rise and fall time ect is nonsense. Its a monitor, how it LOOKS is the only thing that matters.

Before anyone says, i accept no LCD yet is perfect when it comes to black. Just that the Sony X Black models are much better.

Response time (ie: rise and fall time) is extremely important to those of us who want to use LCDs for gaming and movies. The amount of ghosting from, say, a 25ms LCD is tremendous when playing games and can, in some cases, render the game practically unplayable.
