Do all Dairy Queens (the chain) the same menu?

I ask this, because in the thead about pop rocks, someone mentioned getting a grape kool-aid explosion at DQ, which had lots of pop rocks in it. I had my heart set on one after work when I stopped, but I didn't see it on the menu at the drive up. Do they all work from different menu's or something? Should I try another one when I run into town tonight to buy brake pads for my car?

I believe that DQ is a franchise run business, which means that all DQ's are pretty much independently run and only kick back a franchise fee to the DQ corporate on a monthly basis.

If this is the case, then the franchise owner may have the power to "yay" or "nay" certain menu items based up local market interest.

Also, many times these promotions are only run for a certain amount of time. I remember seeing these being advertised about 3 weeks ago in my area. The franchise in your area may have tried selling them for a little while but experienced dismal sales.

They may have stopped the promotion to clear up the POS (point of sales) advertisements and to make room for better selling items.

Once again, pure speculation. I work for a company that owns the franchise rights to about 20 Arbys, and 5 Krispy Kreme stores. We have Arbys in both the state of Iowa as well as Wisconsin. I know for a fact that we only offer certain items at certain locations.

You know, I saw a sign about that on the drive through, I bet they DID have it and it wasn't listed.

Did it come in other flavors then grape?
