Oddly, I've met more people who go to cali for a vacation then end up coming back to the midwest talking like that. The time I went to cali, I never heard one person talk like that though.

i live in maryland and i say "brah" a lot.

its not the typical 'blonde white surfer' guys who say it around here at all, far from that. its more of an urban word around here, like 'dog'.

ie, "whats up dog?"
"whats up brah?"

same thing. but people dont go around saying "oh yea i know mark, he's my brah" instead of "oh yea i know mark, he's my dog."

What happened to just saying "Hi, how are you?" :(

<val>That's just soooooo last century. Duh.</val>

Like, oh my Gooood, I guess you're like so totally right!

most people in california talk like the people you see in national television shows and movies. the california accent is truely the "generic" american accent thanks to the entertainment industry.

The "valley" girls really do talk like them. I was at a "camp" for yearbook once and the group referred to as girls being from the valley really did talk like what we stereotypically refer to as "valley girls."

We do speak slower out here though.

Xmas eve, 76 degrees, not a cloud in the sky - might have something to do with it.

Probably because they want ppl to know they went to cali? I mean, I do agree there aren't a lot of ppl that talk like that.

mmm. Chino still has a lot of cows. I wonder if this guy is too attached to one of his cows.

No that's Chico in NorCal.

Chino is in SoCal, East of LA/ NE of OC, out in the Inland Empire. Its famous for being portrayed as The OC's ghetto in the TV show.
