DNC now accussing Reps of being behind the memos

?In today?s New York Post, Roger Stone, who became associated with political ?dirty tricks? while working for Nixon, refused to deny that he was the source the CBS documents."

WTF? Since when is a refusal to deny a sign of guilt?

Here we go again with the "conspiracy" BS.

If ANYTHING, it looks to be perpetrated by the DNC/kerry camp but go ahead believe what you want if it helps you all sleep.

😛 You people amaze me...

CsG

BTW - this belongs in the sticky thread.

There is history of Repugs doing this stuff. Bush's brain is a big culprit in this department. It's not that hard to believe. Republicans: party of Nixon and dirty tricks.

Rove is known for his political tactics when he was a protege of Donald Segretti, convicted Watergate conspirator. In 1970, he sneaked into the campaign office of Illinois Democrat Alan Dixon and stole some letterhead. He printed fliers on the letterhead promising "free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing" and distributed the fliers at rock concerts and homeless shelters. Admitting to the incident much later, Rove said, "I was nineteen and I got involved in a political prank."

It isn't proof of guilt, but Stone has a documented history of similar underhanded behavior so, as Jhhnn said, suspicion is not unreasonable or unwarranted.

Since Stone was in a position to make a declarative statement that he was not involved, it would cost him nothing to deny it... unless he was and he's afraid of being busted for it.

Oh well... Until we have facts, it's just more fodder for the rumor mongers.

Strategically, it's arguably a great move for a right-leaning individual to effectively plant the documents. Because, hey, why would they do that? Surely it would have come from a Democrat. 😉
