I know it is because it is a Gov job and you have to kill somebody to lose your job (sometimes they keep it) but WTF? Some senator in the East has decided to make your drivers liscense fee free if you have to wait in line for over 30 minutes starting next year. Too little, too late.

We (Las Vegas) went through a huge computer system upgrade (LOL) a couple years ago and I think it doubled the wait time. Where do they get these brainiacs that work there? Are these the people that failed the Post Office exams?

Just trying to vent my steam before I go down there, it's going to be a long day.

Anybody have an Idea where these incomps come from? Enron management school?

I know somebody is going to say they work there, I will admit there are one, perhaps two, people there that can actually do the job.

I've never had too much of a problem with them. The problems probably get amplified in ppl's minds because they are not happy to be there in the first place.

Oddly enough the DMV here in Virginia has actually much improved over the past 10 years. Many things can be done over the web without visiting the DMV. When you actually have to visit the DMV you first go to a counter and tell them what you are there for to eliminate the guessing which line to stand in. They hand you a computer generated slip of paper with a letter and number combo and you wait to be called. They explained to me when I asked that the letter-number combo are assigned by transaction type so they can balance the folks with the very quick transactions with the folks with the involved transactions so as not to tie up all the reps with complex transactions at the same time.

Normally im there about 10min or so and thats it. Of course i also go on a weekday and not the weekend.
