DMA in Windows XP

I made some backups of my music cd's. I had some skipping or pauseing on the backups when I played them. My question is where can I check in Windows XP to make sure the DMA is turned on to the cd rom drives? I remember when I was using Windows 98 I would have the same problem when the DMA was turning off.

Thanks

lemarr, don't take this as gospel, but I'm almost sure that XP has DMA automatically turned on for optical drives.

you go to device manager... click on IDE controllers... and then look at the properties for the primary and secondary controller... depending on where your drive is hooked up.

Windows XP will automatically enable DMA if the hardware will take it.

Sounds more like you need a 'Burn Proof' CDRW.
