I just bought a DVD drive and my dvd software says that I need to enable DMA for that drive. Does anyone know how to do this in Windows 2000?

go into device manager, and under your ide controllers, go into properties and there should be an "enable dma" check box

edit: it's under the "advanced settings" tab in properties

Go into Device Managers and look for IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

Then double lick on the primary or secondary IDE channel, depending on where your DVD-ROM was hooked up to, and go to the advanced settings tab. You can set the option to DMA if available.
