dma enabled?

alright, my rig is below but here is my question. If i enable dma for my harddrive shouldn't it show up in the dma resources in the device manager or should only the dma controller show up? The reason i'm asking is because my computer is very sluggish when dma is enabled but when it is disabled it seems to run fine until the processor has to work too much or something and then it freezes and I have to reset the computer with the reset button. I was just wondering if this had anything to do with it.
