They must use the same warehouse or something... the info listed is identical, including how many they have in stock.

Ecost and PCMall are part of the same company, along with 2 other vendors whose names escape me at the moment - one is a Linux company.

is also advertised. Normally my company pays about $60 for each tape. I wouldnt trust Fuji for long time backups, though. We stick with Quantum.
 
I left my sales rep over at pcmall an email... I want to see if they will sell me it at that price. If not oh well, worth a shot!

Placed my order with PCMall (was cheaper for total order including shipping). Just checked my order status -- ordered 10, shows 4 as already shipped the other 6 pending. Looks like I got a partial order, not bad 20 tapes for around $240!
 
I also order from pcmall.
order 2 5 packs and both shipped via 2nd day air

but the thing that bugs me is that ups says the package only weights 2lbs
 
sorry dudes, dlt tapes are pretty heavy. 10 dlt tapes weight a helluvalot more than 2lbs.

These are great none the less, we get about 35 gigs (dlt-7000) on each tape and they are incredibly fast.

That's because PC Mall was only selling the single pack according to the P/N they listed on the product page. You should be able to return the product and get a full refund including S&H because of the description error, but that is about it.
 
Actually the part number they had listed as the 5 pack. PC Mall Part #929463, manufacturer part #26112088-5 (notice the "-5" at the end of the part number, it was a 5 pack listed).

Also, the receipts all state this as a "5 PACK MEDIA".
 
For those who thought this "too good to be true".... purchasing from PCMALL it worked out perfectly for me.

My original shipment was only a 10 single packs. An email to PCMall brought a quick response to investigate -- three days later the remainder of my tapes were delivered by overnight delivery. 50 tapes for $640! This rates as the hottest deal of the year for me! Thanks forcesho for posting the deal. And a bigger thanks to BSRdr for posting the fact that PCMall carried this before I placed an order with Ecost.
