Greetings,

I'm in the midst of research on a projector in the $1400-1800 range for a home theater setup that will be used primarily for HDMI-connected PS3 gaming, and secondary for DVD/Blu-Ray movies. From what I've gathered, the differences in this price range are rather negligible, specifically being:

LCD - Sharper Images but more pixelated gaming graphics.

DLP - Higher contrast, less sharp images.

Feel free to correct the above, I know projectors have come a long way in the past few years. I would appreciate it if someone would help me determine which technology will be best used for PS3 gaming/blu-ray, and then I would welcome suggestions for which projector to get in my price range. Thanks!

I use a (rear-projection) Samsung 50" 1080p DLP (2006 model) for gaming with my PS3 and 360 and it works perfectly without any blurriness. Blu-ray looks very nice as well.

That's only loosely connected to your question but it's one case where DLP is up to the job of gaming.

I believe it often comes down to the individual units rather than just the technology. Input lag between makes differs (even lag between different inputs).
