Ok I have two .dll problems and I really need your help

The first is with Outlook When I start Outlook I get the error message "A device attched to the system is not functioning" and then the error message "The OUTLLIB.DLL file is linked to missing export MSO0.DLL:939"

Whatever bad Outlook but then when starting PalmDesktop I get
"The MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_U@YAPAXI@Z"
I called Handspring they don't know. This was my first time using the software, it's not a bad install. Installed a couple times, went through regedit with them nothing, they are going to have someone call me back in a day or two

So I said why not go on AT, you guys are smart. WTF is up two different DLL problems?? Please please help.

Thanks

hm,, check MS page for critical updates...

i had a serious problem with OE before, i updated my version of IE.. and it had some patches for OE and it fixed it.. try to update your browser.. and if you are running six.. go back to 5 and see if that fixes it..

I'll check but why is it happening to two programs and all of a sudden??

Dell tech support (yes I bought my system) said that I should reinstall Office. WTF? Then why is the other DLL acting up too ..

Anyone else?

[edit] no critical updates needed [/edit]

Reinstalling Office will fix the MSVCRT and MSVCIRT problem, as well as the MSO0 problem. All 3 DLLs are part of MSOffice...or at least ship with it.

MSVCRT and MSVCIRT are used by most Windows programs....they are the Microsoft Visual C Run Time libraries, so it should fix your Palm desktop if that is getting those errors too.

Ok fixed my Outlook (by reinstalling Office 2000) so just getting the Palm Desktop one now

It sounds like one of the programs (maybe the Handspring program) is installing an older version. Maybe you should install the Handspring program first and then install Office (or something else) that has the newer version of the DLLs. I am not for sure and this is just a guess so don't go spending time based on my guess. Maybe someone can confirm or deny this?

[edit] don't think Handspring installs those files but is it worth a try?

Okay, try this page. It's a list of the various versions of MSVCRT.DLL and, hopefully, a fix for your problem.

Most of the time it means you have old files, or that another file/program on your computer is conflicting those files. I had a similar problem with outlook and updated and it fixed it, i dunno..:(
