Dlink VPN

Anyone know of a place that has discussions of configuring a Dlink router for VPN?

I already checked the Dlink site. (absolutely no help)

i'm sure all you ahve to do is open up the proper ports, and whne you figure them out let me know b/c i need to do this on my router...

oh by the way are people connecting to a machine behind the router or are you trying to connect to a vpn server in the outside world?

The vpn server will be at home.

I and others will connect to it from the outside.

All the ports and other router settings are set according to what I've read here and elsewhere.


I can make an ftp connection from the outside using ftp from command line or an ftp client like CuteFTP. but I cannot get a directory or list of files, just a connection.

When using the Connectoid I get a server not responding error.

When I first set up the connectoid I incorrectly put in the private IP of the server 192.168.xxx.xxx and I could get a connection buts thats all, just a connection.

When you are setting up routing and remote access on the vpn server do you use the same private IP range as your d-link router, which is 192.168.xxx.xxx or the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx range?

I suspect my problem may be a combination of router settings and server setings.
