1. internet is working fine
2. i cant log into my router to tweak with port forwarding and such( when i type in http://192.168.0.1 and my pw) it just gives me a "page not found" error... i think i toasted it somehow but i'm not sure how to get it back..

Can you ping the router? If not, perform a hard reset (check your manual) and reconfigure it.
EDIT: If you're running XP, go to your network places properties page and double click the LAN connection. Then click the repair tab at the top and check to see what your default gateway is. If it's not the IP you thought it was, you probably changed the IP of the router.

Can you access it via the CLI (command line interface). I have the DLink 504 and am able to plug in the 9 pin serial cable to my serial port on the PC and onto the back of the router and access it that way.

I don't have any info about your specific router but I've found this page to be an excellent repository for DSL-500/504 information.

Edit: You sure the router IP is 192.168.0.1 (which is the default)?? Perhaps it got changed somewhere along the line. Whats your PCs IP?

my ip is 192.168.0.103

2 other pc's are hooked up to the network and they are in the hundreds as well..

i ping 192.168.0.1 and it gives me a response..

so it looks like my only option is the serial CLI connection.. but i only found a parallel to serial cable at the moment.
