DLink NIC for -$0.01 + tax after MIR at CC

dajo

Senior member
I went to CC during my lunch break and got a DLink DFE-530TX+ for $19.99 with a $20.00 MIR. My total after I get the rebate will be $1.61.

You mileage may vary from store to store, as the clerk explained to me that this store is a designated a "BestBuy" CC store which sometimes has lower prices from other CC stores. He said it was because they were across the street from BestBuy. He also said they pricematch within 30 days if their "competitor" offers the same product at a lower price.

Edit
This is not a dead deal. Some confusion has been created by the introduction of a link to the CC web site involving a rebate on the NIC in combined purchase with another item. That is not the rebate I got today. Mine kicked out at the registor and is $20.00 for the $19.99 DFE-520TX+ NIC. I think that this is a B&M deal only. I just happened to see it when I was in the store today.

Rebate requires that you purchase this along with a DI-704 router.

Danger Will Robinson, Danger!!!

The rebate is a "combined-purchase" rebate. The rebate form linked on the product page at www.circuitcity.com states:

Receive a $20 mail-in rebate with the purchase of both of the following:
DLK DI704 DLK DFE530TXPLUS

So unless you're talking about a different rebate this deal is dead....

Wow, thanks for the heads up, knight, good thing my order screwed up, or else I would have ordered something that I really didn't need, simply for the fact it was cheap.

Sorry everyone for promoting this, I will research more exhaustively next time.

The rebate I'm holding which printed out at the cash register pertains only to the DFE-530TX+ which I purchased today at CC. It is for $20.00 and is only for the NIC.

It looks like this on the rebate form:

"$ 20 Mail-in Rebate on purchase of:

DK DF#530TXPLUS Qty:1 Rebate Amt:$ 20.00"

This is what I got in the store about 2 hrs ago. (which was approximately 1pm CST 2/25/02)

This is a good card...

Good Card == Compatable with both Linux and Norton Ghost.

D-Link has drivers for both linux and dos (and all windows too). This being the DFE-530TX+ card, will require users to manually edit the ghost file (as ghost natively supports the DFE-530TX). Which only requires that you download the driver file for dos, put it on the floppy and then change the references to the old driver to the new driver.

I've got one of these installed and one new in a box, and I'm headed out to buy more tomorrow (this deal...)

Just picked up this card tonight, its a good card, but mine can't do 36+ mhz overclocked pci bus🙁
Not really its fault, just my overclocking itch.
I was hoping to replace my 4 year old linksys100tx too, oh well at least this one is FREE!!!!!!

Thanks for the deal dajo. Picked one up on my way home right as the store was closing.
May not be the one I use in my OC machine, but I can sap 'em around and experiment. It's about time to do a fresh reload on the home machines again anyway.

picked this up last night after seeing your post, dajo (there's a repost on AT with this same deal, amazingly enough)

excellent deal at $1.29 + $0.34 (stamp) = $1.63 after rebate
now its a matter of waiting for the rebate... heard they take up to 3mos, that blows... oh well.

Dang. I was going to post this topic, as I was at CC tonight to pick up the $9.99 TDK's and hadn't seen this deal before I left. Oh well, you can't beat free. I picked this card up as a spare.

Got mine last night

Rebate printed from website is for NIC ONLY

Screw you DELL.....I didn't want your sorry 85 cent card anyway!!!!!

Could someone please tell me which number is the requested ESN / Serial number? I see 2 numbers on the card and not sure which one. Thanks.

Phi,

Yes, same here. Just going to fill the rebate form but got confusion about the ESN #. Who can kindly tell me where I can find this #, on the box or on the card? Thanks.

deal is over, ended at 3/2 🙁
