DLink 701

[crazychicken]

I have a DLink 701 router. I can connect to it w/ hyperterminal and config it that way, but the software that came with it says 'Not Found'

Why does that happen and how do i fix it?

also, the light directly to the left of the 'error' light is always on. in the book it says this light is for 'n/a'

why is it on? and what does it do?

I have the same problem with the software as well. Don't know about the light though.

Have you contacted Dlink? Have you checked the cable you are using? Does the router itself seem to work?

Yes I contacted D-Link, but they gave the usual "It must be your network card, or system" type excuse where basically they don't have a clue as to why its happening, and just blame it on anything.

I actually don't have a problem with this as I normally access the router from LINUX and prefer not having a GUI interface.

ya it works fine, but like i said, their software doesn't work and that extra light is bugging me

i think the light turned on when i did upgraded the firmware
is that the actual meaning of the light ? that the firmware is not original?
