This is for my friend, we are having a LAN over here tonight and we want to play Frozen Throne online but it won't let us join a game created by another person in our LAN...I have feeling it is the firewall but have no idea about setting it up, any help would be very appreciated, thanks!
 
the firewall has to do with connections between the inside and the outside only. Your problem lies with the machine settings inside.
Can you see or ping each other? does anyone have the XP firewall software running, or any other firewall?
 
If you have software firewall on any of the machines, or you forgot to disable the Microsoft ?Gem? WinXP Firewall (ICF).

You might want to disable all the Firewall as a tribute to the festive occasion.

As said above the Router?s Firewall does not affect the internal traffic.
 
k, yes we could see/ping eachother and tehre were no other Firewalls open....we had to enable port 6112 in the dlink setup stuff, and it required a firmware update, but it's all good.
