Well he was badly burned I believe. Pain meds are no joke. You can get hooked pretty easy. (Not that we know they were pain meds yet, but yea)
 
who the fuck is he supposed to be grateful too? It's his life...maybe he wished he died then, maybe he decided to enjoy his life the way he wanted too.

Look at the guy from Dave Matthews Band...many said why was he even riding an ATV....he was doing what he wanted to that's why.
