Serious props to Hyundai's TQM team... serious improvements over the last couple of years. And its paying off, I see more of them every other day...

To all those who say Hyundai is a junk, think about Samsung.
Just some years ago, Samsung was known for their cheap microwaves.
How is it now?

I agree, Samsung makes a lot of excellent products now, Hyundai seems to be doing the same thing.

That concept car is sexy. But RWD sports car is a no-no up here, that I would care to drive in anyway.

They make some nice LCD monitors

Hey I've got a question. I'm not a car buff, so please go easy on me.

Why is RWD seen as a more attractive option over FWD? I've always opted for FWD cars since they're better in the snow than RWD's.

I guess I'm way out of the loop. I buy cars for reliable transportation only. (I've been driving Accords for 16 years) What is the benefit of RWD's?

Thanks.

RWD = better handling.

Yup, especially when you get into the higher HP and Torque range. Front Wheel Drive cars can suffer from 'torque-steer' when they are coupled to a powerful engine.

if this was AWD -that'd be so sweet.

i actually really like the looks of this car. if it's cheap i might have to think about it.

Very nice. If they can build that with the quality of their Sonata and a decent price it will do well. Oh and they need more power than their current V6 puts out. [SUBARU OWNER]AWD would be nice too...[/SUBARU OWNER]

I actually really like the current Tiburon, the FWD & Hyundai factor (since the Sonata seems to be the real gem of their lineup) put it out of the running for me. That and they still cost more than I'm willing to spend on a car. Very attractive design though, particularly considering who it's from. The old Tiburon was an eyesore, current one is nice, & if they build this I'll drool.

Viper GTS

wow...

They've got a huge momentum now. It seems as if they're riding a crazy huge wave. I really hope they won't wipe out of the wave. This just means more competition, better cars, etc = consumer wins.

If the production looks kind of like the current concept, and can be priced under 25k (for the top end), this would seriously be a kickass car. (ie, datsun Z... )

I've been in the current V6 Tiburon, and it's not all that bad in terms of performance. Expect the next one to be faster and better. I hope the price won't deviate much from the current price, and the quality stays.

The concept car that became the original Tiburon was a nice looking vehicle IMHO (especially for ~$16K), but what made it to production was much more plain Jane. I suspect the same will happen with this one.

OMG that is ugly. I'm finding it harder and harder to like any new designs that car manufacturers are putting out there. I think there are maybe 10 cars that I like the new styling of for the 2005 model year. And they just keep getting worse, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Hyundai needs to change name...that ugly name will probably keep them from selling cars (assuming their cars truly kick ass).

Very nice. Now the article in the link describes the sonata having a coupe version taking design fragments from the pictures. So is this coupe going to be a sonata coupe or the replacement of the current tiburon design.

Wood floors!? crazy, i like it, but doubt to see it in the production model. And when the general public actually proves to the automobile industry that we hate fake wood paneling, i will be a happier person.

I recently bought a 2005 Elantra GT 5door/hatch and I love the car more & more each time I get into it. I wanted an inexpensive compact car with lots of cargo room, good gas mileage and a good warrenty. The fact that it looks a little more unique than your average econo-box is a bonus for me, even if the looks don't appeal to everyone. I looked at and test drove toyota, honda, mazda & hyundai. The fit and finish of the interior is excellent and it has all the features that I wanted (leather,cd,cruise, etc). The car handles well and has enough power but I never expected or wanted a high performace sports car. The mazda3 was a close 2nd but I didn't like the cloth seats and some other interior features + the sales people (2 dealerships) were a bunch of lying sacks of shit. Keep knockin the Hyundai all you want but I love my little car : )

i dont understand why hyundai doesnt come out with a new brand name like toyota/lexus, honda/acura, nissan/infiniti the brand name i think is hurting them

they arent at the point where people wouldn't laugh at their attempt to sell a luxury brand.
