I'm putting my 50in plasma on the wall, and since the unit costed so much, i want to save a few on work on putting on the wall, since a person quoted me $1400 to put it.

Now what kind of support, and etc.. do i need?

is there someone good, and cheap in the miami area?

Use a stud finder and find a stud, mount it.

going a step further, attach the mounting brackets to the studs, mount plasma tv to brackets, enjoy TV.

where can i see a step by step tutorial on how to hand a plasma? how do i install studs?

Dont be the one who later makes a post..."My 50 inch plasma just hit the floor"

Do the job correctly. Brackets mounted to studs mounted to plasma as the other guy said😉

If you don't know what a stud is, I'd say you need to hire someone to mount it for you.

I'm starting to think that $1500 for an install might be worth it by preventing a costly mistake... 😉

Call around for quotes... Any handyman should be able to at least mount it to the wall...

instruction don't tell what the true installation process is.

They tell you a basic explanation, not the needed one.

Then why do we use instructions to do and complete "things"successfully.

Dude seriously, don't try to mount your 5000 dollar plasma TV yourself. Have a professional do it for you. Just shop around and find someone that will do it for cheaper than 1400 bucks.

its heavy. you need to find studs. and yes, this sounds like a penny wise pound foolish tragedy in the making.

post pics if it hits the floor, i wanna rubber neck

You don't actually need a stud. There are dry wall anchors that can hold hundreds of pounds with no stud. The only problem is when you remove the anchor it leaves huge whole in the wall.

pay the fvcking money to get it installed

last thing you want is your nice TV falling on the floor

You have to have a friend who likes building furniture, or installed his own sink or something. It doesn't take a genius.

Go to home depot or whatever and ask for a stud finder. That'd be the first step.

I say if you don't know what "drywall" or "stud" are, then you probably shouldn't be doing this job yet. Instead, for <$150, get something like one of these. Heck you need to put your electronic equipment somewhere anyways, why not have one piece of furnature hold everything?

I just did this for my brothers 42" plasma. Get one of these. Find 2 studs, drill, put the mount up, and hang the tv on it. Worked perfectly. You do not need to pay 1400 for it.

Also go to avs forums and search around there. I have seen some pics of installs before.

Maybe you don't know what a stud it.

When they built your home, it was framed by vertical wood boards. These are called studs, and the wallboard is attached to it. You can buy a device at Home Depot called a stud finder, and it will give you the precise location of these studs. Once you know where they are, you can put an anchor into them, and attach your TV much like you hang a picture. It's very easy to do.

You pay round trip air for me to travel Connecticut to Miami and a couple of days in a motel and I'll install it free.

And as others have suggested, if you don't know what a stud is or how to find one, don't even think of doing this yourself. But don't pay a lot, it's not a big job. It's something anyone with basic carpentry skills can knock off with a beer in one hand.

x2 to these comments! If you have to ask how to install studs in the wall, the very foundation of home improvement and house DIY eludes you. Do yourself a favor and stay well away from trying to mount that TV yourself.
