Howdy,

I'm looking for some software or a website or whatever that will let me do a layout of my house. We're thinking about doing some remodeling and I want to do some playing around with moving various walls and things like that.

I know I used something ages ago but don't have the faintest idea what it was called.

Can anyone recommend somewhere where I can put in the dimensions of the rooms and basically do a blueprint of our house and then make changes to it to see what the new layout might look like?

Does it have predefined things where I can just draw a wall, plop in a window or door, etc? Haven't used sketchup before.

I did just stumble on Homestyler by Autodesk but the site seems to be down even though maintenance isn't supposed to be for a few more hours.

I did some house design and room design with plan3d. It is pretty slick. You can install different cabinets, doors, windows, siding, roofing, you name it. You can move the sun around and see how shadows move. Not free but it was worth it to me.

Just in case this helps anyone else, I stumbled on Sweet Home 3D and it rocks. Completely free and has all the fancy feature you could want. Super easy to use as well.
