Boring. We need some right-wing fundamentalists to come in here and fire things up!
I think even they are starting to realize what a spooge Bush is.

Haha, so true. My father is a die-hard Republican and even he is hating on The Bush right now.

I believe in their final acceptance speech they basically said people have spoken with their votes... not so much a meaning of "yes we're the best" but more like "people agree with our message".

Correction, the people who vote on these awards are others within the music industry, not the consumer.

Popularly recognized voting members include Jon Bon Jovi, Prince, Paul Simon, and Beyoncé Knowles.

So we have a bunch of no-talent hacks voting for other no-talent hacks?

Yeah, that was awesome. When the US is behind the war, the Dixie Chicks get nothing. When the US is against the war, the Dixie Chicks get every award they can.

Like the tail wagging the dog.

..well I hope you's guys run out and buy all their crappy cd's. After all they won 5 grummies so they must be good.

I personally think it was a decent album but the Grammy voters totally sold out in the name of making a political statement.

Plus, I totally hate Natalie Maines for being absolutely fug and louder than the loudest redneck.

Are the Grammys even relevant anymore? Have they EVER been a reflection of the thoughts of consumers?

You and fox news def have your tinfoil hats on today... I was watching fox and friends this morning dieing because apparently its all a conspiracy to push antibush agendas in award shows.

Well it's pretty painfully obvious what the agenda is from entertainers of all kinds. This is just another example.

Ouch. You win, I surrender. Oh wait, no, actually Fox News wins because even liberals watch it, apparently.

I'm not surprised that they won song and record of the year for "Not Ready to Make Nice". I love the song and video, and the video set a new record for number of weeks at #1 on VH1. I was surprised that the album won though. It's pretty good, "Not Ready to Make Nice" and "Lullaby" are excellent, but the overall album is nowhere near their best. I don't listen to a lot of country though, so I can't really compare it to whatever it was up against in that category.

Wow... if you didn't already know the grammys were full of it, I guess here's your wakeup call. How many did britney spears win?

I didn't think she had ever won one, but apparently she did win one a few years back for Best Dance Record. 😛

I always get the sense that Grammy voters are 70 year olds voting for who they perceive to be cool and hip, or for the act that offends their sensibilities the least. Or maybe for the only name out of the 5 that they actually recognize. They really like it if you're a bit of a throwback in terms of musical/vocal style.

They show a remarkable ability to miss the boat on the great rock musicians of any era, then years later end up giving a few of them an assload of awards if they happen to be lucky enough to make a commerically successful album after the age of 40.

For some of the others, they make up a lifetime achievement award or something. Poor Led Zeppelin, heh heh.

The Dixie Chicks are like Michael Bolton was in the late 80's They both win lots of Grammys, but I'll be darned if I know a single person who bought any of their CD's.
