Was watching VH1 top 20 and watched "not ready to make nice" (which was #1 this week). Pretty good song. I think im'a d/l the album on itunes.


BTW Blue October's "Hate Me" sounds pretty good too.
 
i have to agree. Their cover of landslide is excellent.

Also, they were excellent on howard stern a few weeks ago, very candid, i was impressed.
 
I love their video "Not Ready to Make Nice" and downloaded the song, but haven't tried the rest of the album yet. I especially like that they came out with a, we're not going to kiss anyone's butt for sales, kind of song after what happened to them. I'm sure there were plenty of people on the business side especially who wanted them to either be apologetic or just not mention what happened at all when they came out with a new album. I get the feeling from hearing them talk about it that all three don't necessarily agree on how things were handled, but I respect them for sticking together and supporting each other.

BTW, Lyfer, I downloaded "Hate Me" by Blue October at the same time as the Dixie Chicks song. We must have very similar tastes in music. :thumbsup: Also, the download for "Hate Me" is listed as a medley because there are snippets of 3 or 4 other songs of theirs with it.

My theory is:

*They ran their mouth about the President, Bush

*Had a few words with Toby Keith (don't fvck with Toby.. country music fans love him)

*Previous two actions caused many fans to boycott their music; including the radio stations. A huge majority of the country stations stopped playing their music

*Therefore, Dixie Chicks bit off more than they could chew

*Need to move to another genre, and another fan base



 
Conservatives are weird... They let that hate DRIP. I'm a liberal, and I like Arnie, Bruce Willis, and whoever else regardless of their politics... I gotta admit, I'm a bit baffled by the scientologists and Kabbla ppl, but that woudn't stop me from seeing a movie or enjoying someone's music.
 
i don't care what they are saying on the soapbox they are using because they are "famous".

i thought they sucked before and that hasn't changed.

A boycott by me would be pointless. I wouldn't buy their s***ty music anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I am conservative. But I'm no Bush-lover. The man's done some stupid things, he's done some good things. It's just that all country music sucks, and the Dixie Chicks especially so.

Let's put it this way. I have tried country music repeatedly. I have listened to anything from classic Johnny Cash to modern ones like Toby Keith and, yes, the Dixie Chicks. And my feelings on them all range from mild dislike to pure hate.

What is with you and "spinning" ? What I stated is a fact, it has nothing to do with spinning.

And my point was about country music, that saying it "all sucks" is narrow-minded.

I can say this because I am confident that anyone who says this, has not listened to "all country" music, and therefore is drawing a conclusion without all the facts.

None of that is "spin" as far as I can tell. If you think it is, tell me more precisely why ?

Having a different opinion than someone else, isn't "spin" is it ?
