Does anyone know if that divx thing has adware? I'm trying that thing Nohr now.

divx doesn;t have adware iirc....ffdshow doesn't either.

ffdshow is your all purpose swiss army knife...much more than the divx decoding/encoding codec.

Divx Play doesn't come w/ adware. Divx used to have a free full version divx suite that comes w/ adware.

Divx has been clean since July 2004. It does included the Google Toolbar as an optional(and defaulted to on) install, but there is no real adware included. Just make sure you get the Play bundle, the Create bundle will start nagging you after a while since it requires payment and registration.

ZoomPLayer + FFDShow

Why is that? Seriously though, what does Zoomplayer have that makes it worthwhile?

ZoomPLayer is one othe most well thought out and feature rich player I have found. It is constantly updated and you can ask the authour direct questions on his forum. My maine reason for liking it best is that it is optimized for viewing the Divx on a TV and using a remote. I have a computer at my lakehouse specifically for thiis purpose with ZoomPlayer and an old Pinnacle remote. Works just like a DVD player. On screen display is totally customizeable.....the whole pieceo of software can be configured to meet your personal needs. I have not found a player I like as much....and it is FREE if you don't want the pro verison and you don't need it either if you have DVD software.
