hi, i'm new to the forum and wanted to ask my 1st question.... i have a relatively large DivX movie my friend made and when at 50% resolution (320x240) on WMP it looks very good... but at any larger.... eesh.. so i was wondering how i can make the resolution larger with out losing quality... size of the file after the process doesn't matter and niether does how long the process takes... any ideas???
thanks!

well, you can use a program like virtualdub abd resize the movie, but its not gonna look much better than stretching the wmp windows. your best bet is to just have your friend recompress the sourse to a higher res divx file.

good luck.

Welcome to the forums. Flee while you still can! ;)

You're not going to extract any more quality out of that Divx file, that's for sure. The best you can hope for is to smooth things up a bit using more CPU/video card power. I don't think you can do better than full-screening (usually ALT-ENTER) with your choice of decoder/player. Try ffdshow as a decoder and enable auto post-processing. You can also try Sasami2K as a player and force supersampling, though that'll require a relatively burly computer to maintain full framerate.
