I have about 400 DivX movies on my computer. Almost all of them are perfect quality. I was just wondering what is the quality once they are converted to VCD and viewed on a television? What is a good prog to use to split to DivX files?

Hmmm...
If you have a good TV( HD Digital set) then you may notice a slightly degraded picture when you convert to VCD(mpg1).
It will not be close to DVD quality like DivX.
VCDHelp.com has more information about VCD's than you could possibly want. Link
VCD's played back on a computer full screen look pretty bad. However I tried watching some on my home DVD player on a TV, and it looks a lot more acceptable. You would see some artifacting, but the picture looks more or less like a regular broadcast program.
Use Nero Burning Rom, it can help you split DivX automatically during the burning process, of course vcd (VCD is 352x240 res) looks bad, so you can consider of converting them to SVCD, Nero burning Rom can also help you. You can download the latest version of it "Nero Burning ROM 5.5.8.2 & SVCD_Plugin & Mp3Pro_Plugin" from the Free Download Area of www.jummpa.com
