I have been trying to download the second half a movie, and everytime I go to play it, the screen is black and in the lower right hand corner it flashes DivX with a white background for a second and then theres no sound and a blank screen but its playing. I have RealOne Player, Windows Media Player and DivX Player and Pro Codec along with AC3Filter, dsp2dshow and XviD and I have never had any trouble playing movies since installing that. I have downloaded it mulitple times, and it is avi file. If it matters, I am trying to get the second half of Finding Nemo (not the best quality but oh well). The first half was a piece of cake... Can anyone offer any help?

you said the file is AVI maybe you need to convert it to DivX because thats what you are running.

In that case there is another thread on the next page that I started regarding DivX and AVI.

avi is just a general file extension. There are plenty of Divx files with the avi extension.

Does the first half of the movie play fine? Try using GSpot to identify which codecs you need for the file. Otherwise, a definite fix would be to buy the DVD. :)

Gspot says this...

2 compatible codecs installed
No Audio Channels

I am kinda lost about what to do, so I will try the codecs on the page... can't hurt, right?

The movie is still at the theatre man. ;)

I would try to see what codec is needed or maybe the second half is corrupted or something so that you can't play it.

I think it's corrupted. Since you can play the first part just fine, you don't seem to have any codec issues unless the second part was encoded with diff. codecs (which will be very odd). And you seem to have all the necessary codecs (only thing missing is the ogm codec but not many uses the ogm codec).
