<< Use Virtual dub. Check the projectmayo forums, there's an encoding section, there's a guide for re(encoding) your divxes. Mine comes out to be around 200-250 meg for a 2 hour movie. >>
Daaaaamn. That's still pretty damned big. I saw someone that said they can get a 1.5 hour movie down to 60 megs.
Here's the post.
Tenchi Forever 2 (90 min.)
Final Size: 60.5 megs (fits on 64 meg card)
160*80 widescreen
Divx: 2kb/s
P/Q:medium
1 pass
keyframe: 300
deinterlace
min:max: 2:7
RCA:1000
RCR:10
RCDU:20
Audio 39kb/s
then virtdub to 44.100 khz 16bit mono (6kbs)
I don't know but those settings (especially the 160x80 widescreen) have me thinking this isn't very good quality...but he says it is.
Also...does VirtualDub (thanks...I was just reading the ProjectMayo forums when you said that...) split movies? What if I wanted to split a movie into two chunks or something like that.
