I did a clean install of windows 98 SE and now when I use flask and try encode a movie, I get only PCM 16-bit stereo, 188 k/bit and no other choices. I've installed Windows Media Player 6.4 twice, the radium Mp3 codec and the divx 3.11 alpha codec. I can't get mp3 to show up. Neither can I get WMA to show up. I can play Divx Avi's but during the encoding is when i have the problem. Please help.

If ONLY one PCM bitrate is available then it is a larger problem. Have you looked in the Multimedia Devices? Sometimes you need to close Flask and restart it for access to all codecs again. Can they be accessed from Windows Recorder or other proggies? I recall a problem with the Fraunhoffer codec where it needed to have its priority within the top ten to be seen. Have you installed DX7a and DXMedia runtime too (not sure if that applies but just throwing things out there ... can't hurt). DivX includes the Radium Fraunhofer codec.

I have this problem too. So i dumped FlasKMPEG for VirtualDub since i'm merely encoding MPEG1 streams into DivX.

But if you're encoding MPEG2 DVDs, then you could always download another program. I remember there're 2 MPEG2 encoders at the moment that're widely used.

By the way, WMA format was listed as Windows Media Audio V2 in my FlasK program.

EDIT: Never mind...my advice wouldn't work in your situation.
