There is only one version of the divx codec that I know of but read this and maybe you will find your answer. You can also try The Codec Zone

media player 6.4 didn't play em, 7.0 would.

lnguyen - you might have accidently encoded your movie in smr instead of DivX, it seems like you've figured your problem out...but you know, if you DO accidently encode to smr, you'll need the patch..pm me for it as alot of people seem to be accidently enconding their movies to smr lately..heh

try reinstalling the divx codec

the reason you can't view some divx movies is because you need to install the SMR patch. this is a well known bug in the mpeg-4 divx codec. try looking for it on 123movies on undernet.
