Divx Codec ?

Ok..I have a DV camera and I already made a Skate VCD. But I need to know how to make a avi Dvix encoded file using Ulead 4 (i downloaded 6 but lost it ) so, I need some help. I don't see any Divx format when I try to select the templete. Does anyone know how to use it or have a copy of MediaStudio6? A long time ago I use to be able to capture RAW DV footage I can edit in premiere with a little program..anyone have any ideas?

Why not use Flask, or Vdub?
Your question might be better asked in a DivX movie forum to...
Also do you have the DivX;-) codec installed?

Well this is the deal. Everyone on the AT board whats a skate video CKY in DivX format. I can make it in MPG or normal high/med/low AVI/MPG file but everyone insists DivX. So how would I go about this?


edit: I'll be capturing from a DV camera.

so how do the movies come off the cammera?
are they mpeg2?
or some weird propriatary format?

And yes DivX is very nice

I can choose what format I want it in. Like MPEG2 High res or low res ETC. Damn it! I'll just make em AVI

Well uncompressed AVI's are huge...
Get the moves in Mpg2 then use FlaskMpg to encode the vob's to DivX with Mp3 audio.
Thats what I'd do anyway (or what I DO do )

there is no need to convert from
VCD to MPEG2 to DivX

Virtual Dub actaully convert STRAIGHT from VCD (*.dat) into Divx (*.avi)

This will be a MPEG2 file when I am done. Cause I can pratically use any MPEG file and burn it as a VCD. I'll try the VirtualDub.
