There's not much about this player on the net, I looked through all 6 pages of google results, and there were no mentions of xvid playback.

It could possibly be added via a firmware update, but I dunno

and according to the reveiws on dvdrhelp.com, this player seems to be pretty crappy

The player that seems to be the most talked about right now is the LiteOn LVD-2002, although LiteOn is releasing the LVD-2010 soon which has an ethernet port as well. So you can store your movies onto a PC and stream them to the player.

Methinks the title of this thread ought to read Polaroid Progressive-Scan rather than "Proscan"

never knew Polaroid was into dvd players. but does anyone know if the firmware is upgradable? if it is, it shouldn't be that hard to add xvid compatibility to it later.
