Divx 5.0 pro vs. standalone version?

Is there actually a performance and quality difference between the standalone version of the Divx 5.0 codec and the pro version that's supported with adware?

Also.. where is the option in virtualdub to join multiple avi files together?
 
Iono. I downloaded the free pro version and some deal add popper thingy was installed along with it. I uninstalled and got the regular non pro version. Works the same so far.
 
play back looks same to me...
i didn't try encoding though

i tried watching the warcraft III divx, the "high"resolution one and my computer is too slow for it! the sound and video keep going out of sync. my computer is a PIII 1ghz with 386 megs of ram and a the visiontek geforce 2-gts v
