D2 gets better the longer you play it IMHO,I like the fact you can mix skills from different classes,I'm playing as ranger with healing skills, explosive arrows and lockpick skills plus a few other skills, its quite fun in the game.

I thought the game won't be released until January 5th. How are you playing it? Maybe I missed an ealier post about a demo or beta.

Awesome. I am interested in buying this game. Hopefully it doesn't lose much in the translation.

Yeah, the US got shafted by the pushed back release date. Hopefully that means they'll have the kinks worked out by the time it shows up here. I do know the latest patch is supposed to ship with the US version.

Update on my D2 experience, well so far its still enjoyable and I must say Ranger(Archer ) still rocks, the skills I went with were Evade (chance to dodge melee attacks) Regen(increases health regen rate) ,Ranger Strength(increases damage with bow),Healing spell and my favourite Explosive Arrows, this combo is awesome in the game you can handle basically anything with bow, never even bothered with melee, btw you even get an NPC creature that your Necromancer makes later to help you ,if you want more mobs on your side then pump some points in summon demon spell or the other ones like summon ghost etc..

I should say you can put more then one point in your skills and even increase the maximum skill levels of most skills from your trainer for a price.

I hope they make an expansion or D3 to this game :).

I hear Mage and Ranger class is easier to play D2 then melee class ,do remember you can choose any skill you like (from any class) if your level matches the skill level (and you have skill points remaining ).

I have not finished the game but don't want to say too much, believe me there is a lot more good things/features I could say about your character etc but it would spoil the game ,so I'll leave you to find out the rest when you buy/play the game.

:)

I did not meantion you don't need to do anything special to get it to run in Win7 x64,no need to run as admin or XP compatibility mode,I did make sure I had latest DX9.0c installed(as always).

Update: finished the game, however ending is not what I expected.

Is there any way to 'contine' dialog when it prints "continue" without clicking on "continue". I.e, when it gives you a selection you can press a number but for end and continue it seems that I can't use the keyboard to finish the dialog (I'm playing the demo; which is in english).

I figured it out; you can type 1 even though 1 is not listed as an option :)

I tried the demo of this game, downloaded from Gamespot. The demo runs slow on my 9800GT, but I have only an E4500 stock clocked CPU, so the game may be CPU limited on my system. I also had a recurring issue in that no matter how low I set the graphics, I would get a totally black screen if I turned up the resolution to my native resolution (only 1440x900). If I used a lower resolution, the game ran acceptably. So the demo seems buggy at best. The game is kind of fun though. I might pick it up later if I can find it for a reduced price and if the full version of the game is not so buggy.

Supposedly the US full version fixes a few bugs.

I just wanted to give you the update on the next patch. The US release contains a number of fixes and improvements, based upon your feedback, and the new patch has been derived from that. It's currently in QA but as the game is pretty big and they need to test it against all the different language versions and both platforms, it might still take a bit of time before it's released, but we're trying to get it done as soon as possible. To give you an idea of what the new patch contains, here's a small (but not finite) list:

-New targeting system
-No more getting stuck on dynamic objects
-More hints on the map
-Weapons now hit multiple enemies if they are standing within the arc the weapon makes
-No more delays between skills and attacks i.e. the avatar reacts much faster in combat
-A bunch of fixes and other improvements
