One of my friends told me about this the other day. Before that I hadn't heard anything about it. I think it looks really interesting and I'll probably see it.

The "Unwanted Aliens in Refugee Camp" doesn't do it for me. But I guess I'll wait and see how it turns out.

Like it very much.

What if the aliens are more human than we?

What if WE'RE more alien than they are?
Wait, what?

I'm starting to think that htis is the twist. The aliens are the good guys and humans are the scary thing.

It looks good, but why are aliens with the technology to levitate multiple square kilometers of metal living in an African slum?

I'm hoping the plot will be a little more subtle than that, but you're probably right.

*spoilers ahead for I Am Legend*

This was kind of the twist in the book for I Am Legend IIRC. Everybody was a vampire/infected at one point, and the main character (Robert) was the only one of his kind left (human). The 'infected' wanted to rebuild society and were trying to cope with the infection, but Robert still viewed them as the enemy. They were only after him because they saw HIM as the predator. He was the one that was killing them, not realizing they weren't monsters or anything and they were just trying to cope with their infection and move on.

Really good book. It's a shame how butchered it got in the movie. I've never seen a movie get the book so wrong before. It shouldn't even share the same title.

Well, according to one line, they just want to go home. Which makes me think they've run out of Fuel or something and are stranded on Earth.

Sadly, from readin a little about the movie, I now why they are on Earth. Minor spoiler which you'll probably learn about in the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Their Ship is actually organic and the DNA has been mutated by a CIA experiment! So they can't leave! Yes, this is a joke. With Hollywood today though, it wouldn't be shocking. Spoiler follows:

For story purposes, that's just where the ship landed. For metaphor purposes, the country is South Africa. Doesn't take much thinking.

Actually, as Neill Blomkamp explained at Comic Con that the aliens are more of a psuedo-hive-mind. They have lost their Queen, so they are not capable of just deciding to go home. The movie, hopefully will expand on this. I think it's a very interesting idea

So, still nothing at Rotten Tomatoes. last I looked there were 10 good reviews (by peopel that probably have not even seen it). Basically the fan boys. So the actual reviews won't be out till this weekend. That kinda sucks seeing how I want to see it Friday. Hollywood usually does this when they expect bad things.
