Thanks! I REALLY like the additions to the interface (especially for OGR) but I do wish that we had a faster core-like version 463-for the K6 family... :p

I have 56 machines to upgrade, is there any impact to the project if I do not upgrade the ones that I already have installed? or do you reccomend upgrading?

SETI Gang don't call me a hipocrit I am asking ;)

No, you don't need to worry about upgrading. Sometimes the newer versions have a slight speed increase or usability extras, but the actual work done is valid from any of the clients.

The client is faster with OGR on Intel machines. On AMD the 463 is still the fastest. There are some reports on the RC5 just a bit faster (just a few keys).

hey I need help! I have to figure out how I took off OGR on my client..

too bad Paulson's website isn't on anymore (I heard it was taken down), that would have solved my problem..

Is there a difference between the release version and the BETA version dnetc v2.8012-465-GTR-00122516 for Win32?

How long does it takes to dump 26,000 packets?

Isos, geez! 26,000 packets?!? :)

Well, that'll probably take you a few hours, even on a fast connection.

Check the changes.txt file Isos, most of the changes in it aren't in the pre-release.

The new version seems very stable on Win2K:cool:, so if you''re having problem with the earlier clients, you might want to try this new client. For those who have multiple buff-out files, the ability to merge your output buffer before flushing is very convinient.

I still find GUI client version 2.7105.432 faster than this new version. The scope is nice but if you are strickly on RC5 (no DES or OGR) a few more blocks a day is more important than seing a nice graph.:)

Also if you're running SETI v3.03 on the same machine, RC5 gets a better cpu time alotment (without forcing via task manager) and you can even run 2 DOS SETI clients.

The 26K packets resulted in merging a few of the backup files that I think got lost somehow (about 120000 blocks-flushing took over 2hrs, clueless pproxy got the workout). I'll find out tonight if my guess is correct - my usual output is about 5K-6K blocks a day.
