distributed folding?

I haven't seen any posts or stats update on this project in a while. Is the TeAm still doing it? Or should I move my computers to a different project?

You know, GhettoFob, I'm thinking the same thing. I'm still folding, but the lack of discussion is boring me. Granted there isn't much to talk about other than stats.

I know I've asked before but it's been a while and I'm aging so byte me... 😉

What is the difference between DF and F@H?

I started up again a little while ago, more of a lurker though 🙂

I run it on several machines in my office while at work and I've a couple at home, nothing spectacular though.

Generally cross-project recruiting is frowned upon.

Folding@Home and DF do have differences, but I never bothered to check them out before. DF certainly isn't a bad project by any means, but I tend to be biased elsewhere so I'll keep my opinions out of the thread. 😉

I would like updates on when fast proteins are out so i can work on them. I remember months ago working on a fast protein. Unfortunately right now I am 100% committed to sob.

I've been doing DF for a month or so now (RJB) and the team effort is kind of disappointing. But I looked at some of the other projects out there and I was kind of stuck on which one to run instead.

I need something with clear scientific value...preferably medical.
I need something that installs easily and runs as a service (a true windows service)...I'd love something that is as easy to run a herd as RC5 was with RemoteCows.
And I need to be able to ignore my herd for 2 weeks at a time without worrying.

Unless I can find a more popular project that meets these needs, I'll stick with DF.

I pretty much stopped folding...I've been too busy at work, and wanted to have some peace and quiet in my office, so I shut down DF, and let my herd go on standby:Q I was also tired of babysitting the DF text client - it was always crashing on 3 of my computers. I also had a few power supply failures which started turning me off to DC in general. But enough of my sob story - I have about 12 GHz up and running now 🙂

Edit: What killed me was the power supply BURNED UP in a dual athlon 2.4 GHz MP machine at work, while running a DC project, and the MB hasn't worked ever since!!. It was running DF OK, but I decided to give ECCp a try, to see how fast it would run. The PSU smoked up ~20 minutes into running 2 instances of ECCp. 4.8 GHz of Athlon power lost 🙁:|🙁
