Question Displayport to monitor issue

Hi I have recently purchased a used monitor a Dell U2312HM as a second monitor hoping to extend (not mirror) my display onto that second monitor it has a displayport adapter also.
Having connected it via displayport cable to my 4060ti displayport there was no signal and the monitor only showed a message that it would go into power save mode. I used a second displayport cable to see if that was the issue but not unfortunately. The GPU (4060ti) has 3 DP ports and only one HDMI which works well with no issues,don't really want to have to purchase a splitter with extend capacity hoping to sort this issue without doing that. My main monitor is an MSI pro MP341C. TIA

Initially yes but as it posts it goes to black screen ,have tried two DP cables so don't think it's the cable it also throws up an exception message if plugged into the hdmi and I plug in the DP cable at the same time.
