Display problem

In XP, when I right-click on the background and click on properties, the display window that comes up has no options on the top. It's stuck on themes--I can't access screen saver options, advanced display stuff, etc. It's really weird.

Anyone have any ideas what went wrong, and how I can fix it? I only noticed it today, don't know how long it's been like that for.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Not sure why you didn't put this in Software/Apps... but ok. Have you tried a different user account? Such as one with admin privileges?

Oops, my bad...perhaps it should have been in that forum. Er...now that you mention it, you're right, general hardware doesn't make a whole lot of sense for this...

I have only one user account on this computer, and it has administrative priveleges.

No, a screenshot is a good idea...uh...there's probably some obvious way to do this that I'm missing, but once I have a screenshot, how do I display it or attach it into my post?
